John first joined Summit Partners in 1993 as an Associate. Today, as a Managing Director, he focuses primarily on business services and tech-enabled services opportunities and is currently a board director of 48forty Solutions, CollisionRight, OTR Solutions, Patriot Growth Insurance Services and Snap Finance.
John's prior investments and directorships include Associa, Blue Ocean Software (acquired by Intuit), Clinical Pathology Laboratories (acquired by Sonic Healthcare), Continuum (acquired by Thoma Bravo), FineLine Technologies (acquired by L Squared Capital Partners), FleetCor Technologies (NYSE: FLT), Fortegra Financial (NYSE: FRF, later acquired by Tiptree Financial), Harvey Performance Company (acquired by Berkshire Partners), HelpSystems (acquired by H.I.G. Capital), Innov-X Systems (acquired by Olympus Corporation), Masternaut, Solid State Equipment (acquired by Veeco Instruments), Sybari Software (acquired by Microsoft) and Systems Maintenance Services (acquired by Partners Group).
Prior to Summit, John worked at BayBank. While attending business school, John worked for Bain & Company before rejoining Summit in 1998.
John holds an AB in economics, cum laude, from Dartmouth College and an MBA, with distinction, from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University.
